A global pioneer in pilates

KX Pilates is a boutique fitness studio chain that specializes in dynamic reformer Pilates classes. KX’s methodology is founded upon the ‘Kaizen Xperience’, originating from the Japanese philosophy of ‘kaizen’ or ‘change for the better’.

The 50 minute workouts have 3 different levels of difficulty; beginner, intermediate and advanced creating a workout class that is designed for members of every fitness level.

In 2018, KX Pilates had 50 studios. Since then, KX has more than doubled its number of studios to over 100, making them the largest reformer studio franchise in Australia.

KX Pilates plans to continue its expansion in the coming years, with plans to open new studios in Australia, New Zealand, China, Singapore, Taiwan and Indonesia.

The Challange

Legacy software unfit for growth

As KX continued to expand they were starting to find their legacy software ran on outdated technology which made it slow and complicated.

This software was also built for different types of businesses and industries, meaning the features needed for pilates studios just weren't available.

On top of this, there were significant transaction fees which were a lot for their Franchise Partners.

Out with the old and in with the new

In 2018 KX migrated their 50 studios over to Hapana, officially launching the KX Booking System (KXS). KX were able to white-label Hapana’s software and customize many of the features to reflect their brand, values and plans for expansion.

The Process

50 studios migrated in 42 days

Many franchisee’s owned multiple locations with the franchise so all teams worked together to make sure that everyone, including members, were unaffected by the migration.

A migration plan was set, approved and successfully executed within 6 weeks with training and onboarding for all franchise owners. Hapana’s CEO & Founder Jarron Aizen personally oversaw the migration and was quick off the mark to fix any issues that arose.
